Awards Show Unable To Offer Cash Prizes Assures Winners They Will Be Compensated In Words On Resumé

Addressing questions about the prize structure ahead of Saturday's ceremony, Gnoscars organizers clarified Tuesday that while the awards do not include money, winners will receive something far more valuable: a line on their resume.

"If you want to leave an outstanding legacy in DC history, look no further,"

read the announcement, which used the word "prestigious" four times and the word "dollars" zero times.

Pressed for details, organizers explained that the Gnoscars offer exposure, recognition, and honor, a compensation package described by one nominee as "the same thing I get for not winning." Another potential nominee asked whether the line could be exchanged for a smaller amount of money, "such as enough to buy some honey pancakes" and was told no.

The claim has nonetheless found believers. One member confirmed he is excited to add "Most Reputable Friendly Player, 2026" to his resumé.

"Recruiters see the trophy emoji and they stop scrolling," he said. "That's the whole game. Stopping the scroll."

Reached for comment, unalign, a hiring manager at slashad said he had in fact stopped scrolling, and had continued to sit there for some time.

Organizers note that the awards' true value compounds over years, and that today's Best Emerging Voice is tomorrow's respected community figure.

At press time, sources confirmed the resume line had only been added to the prize structure after a rival ceremony gave out three thousand dollars.
